RingCentral hands you the admin portal. We hand you a working system.

For businesses under 20 licenses, RingCentral describes onboarding as self-guided, and its terms make the customer the first tier of support. We are that first tier: we fit the call flow, build the phones and the AI receptionist, and run the network under them.

Facts about RingCentral checked in October 2026, from their published pages and public records; third-party estimates are labelled. Every claim links to its source.

Fit

Who each is for

RingCentral

Teams that want a large app platform, published compliance certifications and an admin who will run it in-house.

SLINC

Small and midsize businesses that want the phone system, the AI receptionist and the network fitted to how they already work, run by a team that knows the setup, with changes made by a call or an email.

Side by side

RingCentral and SLINC, row by row.

Price you see

RingCentral

Core from $20 per user per month billed annually, or $30 billed monthly, for 1 to 5 users, before taxes and fees. [1]

SLINC

No price list. After the walk-through you get a written design and a written proposal for one monthly agreement.

Onboarding

RingCentral

Under 20 licenses, “a self guided and self-initiated onboarding,” with training help by phone for 30 days after ticket completion. [2]

SLINC

We walk each location, write the design, build it and test it. There is no onboarding window that closes: we stay the first call for the life of the agreement.

Who builds the call flow

RingCentral

Business hours and call handling are features “accessible through the RingCentral app and Admin Portal” to the account admin. [3]

SLINC

We do. Routes, hours, holidays and every desk’s keys, written down and approved by you before anything is ordered.

First-tier support

RingCentral

“Customer must provide all first-tier support to Customer’s End Users.” [4]

SLINC

We are the first tier. Your staff call or email us in plain English; we make the change and confirm back.

AI receptionist

RingCentral

An add-on from $39 a month with 100 minutes, then $0.50 a minute billed in 30-second increments. Trained “using your website, FAQs, or uploaded documents.” [5] [6]

SLINC

Scripted with you, built into your call flow and tested before handover. Its warm transfer calls the right person, says who is waiting and why, and connects only on a yes. A line on your agreement.

Contract

RingCentral

Terms “automatically renew for successive periods of the same length as the Initial Term” unless either party gives notice at least 30 days before the term ends. [4]

SLINC

Written into your agreement before you sign. Ask for a copy at the walk-through.

The setup

The setup: who does the work.

Plenty of technical people don’t want to build their own IVR in a portal. Your front desk shouldn’t have to.

What RingCentral asks of you

  • Run your own onboarding: under 20 licenses it is “a self guided and self-initiated onboarding.” [2]
  • Set business hours and call handling as the account admin, in the RingCentral app and Admin Portal. [3]
  • Train the AI Receptionist “using your website, FAQs, or uploaded documents,” then review and adjust it “using a simple, self-serve admin portal.” [6]
  • Support your own staff: “Customer must provide all first-tier support to Customer’s End Users.” [4]

What we do instead

  • We walk each location and learn how your calls actually move.
  • We write the call flow, hours, holidays and desk layouts, and you approve them.
  • We write the AI receptionist’s script with you and build it into the call flow.
  • By the time the phones are plugged in, we have reviewed the routes, the hours and the AI receptionist.
  • After go-live, changes are a call or an email in plain English. We make them and confirm back.

The network

When calls break up.

“Customer must provide all first-tier support to Customer’s End Users.”

We are that first tier, and we run the firewall, switches and Wi-Fi the phones ride on. When calls break up, one team owns the phone and the network under it, so the problem never bounces between vendors.

Network

Choppy calls, and a switch nobody suspected.

Situation
A client’s calls kept breaking up. Each of their other providers said its side was fine.
What we found
The phones’ own call diagnostics pointed to the PoE switch in the equipment closet, which was producing collisions in its managed configuration.
What we fitted
We corrected the switch configuration and the calls cleared. The phones and the network they ride on are now run by one firm.

Terms

The fine print

What RingCentral’s own terms and pricing pages say.

  • Auto-renewal: terms “automatically renew for successive periods of the same length as the Initial Term” unless either party gives notice at least 30 days before the term ends. [4]
  • Ending early: the customer owes “all sums remaining unpaid for the Services for the remainder of the then-current Term.” [4]
  • RingCentral’s cost recovery fee “is not a tax, nor is it mandated by any level of government.” [7]
  • One public July 2026 budgetary quote for 32 lines: $352.00 of monthly service carried $313.87 of monthly taxes and fees, including a $4.00-per-line Compliance and Administrative Cost Recovery Fee, on a 24-month term that renews for 24 months. That is one quote, not a pattern. [8]
  • AI Receptionist past the included 100 minutes: $0.50 a minute, “rounded up and billed in 30-second increments.” [5]
  • AT&T Office@Hand is “powered by the RingCentral RingEX platform,” per RingCentral’s August 4, 2025 press release. [9]

Fair is fair

Where RingCentral is stronger

Honest answers build trust, so here is where they win.

  • Published compliance coverage, including “HITRUST, GDPR, PCI, HIPAA and others.” [1]
  • A large app platform: talk, text, meet and manage calls “from one phone system,” with CRM integrations such as Salesforce. [10]
  • A 14-day free trial for new subscribers, and prices you can see before you talk to anyone. [1]
  • An AI Receptionist sold on its own that “can be layered on top of existing phone systems, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.” [6]

AI receptionist

An AI receptionist written with you. Not generated from your website.

It is part of the design from the walk-through on: the script, the people it transfers to and the calls it should never keep waiting.

  • 01

    Built in-house, kept current

On the newest realtime speech-to-speech voice models. As better ones ship, we move your line forward.

  • 02

    Your name, your script

It answers as your business, from a script we write with you.

  • 03

    Looks things up live

During the call: today’s menu, a caller’s account.

  • 04

    Warm transfers

It calls the right person, tells them who is waiting and why, and connects only when they say yes or press 1.

  • 05

    A safety net

If the AI leg fails, the call falls back to a person or voicemail.

  • 06

    The message, right away

Who called, their number and what they need, texted and emailed as the call ends.

  • 07

    Every call on the record

Recorded in both directions and transcribed, with a private signed link to the recording.

  • 08

    Updated by a phone call

New hours or specials? Call them in. No configuration screen.

(631) 237-9590

It answers in our name, takes a message and can transfer you, just as it would for your business.

Switching

Switching from RingCentral

Bring your current bill and your RingCentral agreement to the walk-through. We note the renewal date, check which phones can stay, write the new call flow and do the porting paperwork with you. The cutover happens after you close; when you open, the calls already go where they should.

Questions

RingCentral or SLINC: questions.

Is RingCentral’s AI Receptionist the same as yours?
No. RingCentral’s is set up in a self-serve admin portal and billed by the minute past the included minutes. Ours is scripted with you, built into your call flow, tested and run by us, and sits as a line on your agreement. Its warm transfer calls the right person, tells them who is waiting and why, and connects only when they say yes or press 1. Call (631) 237-9590 to hear it.
Can we keep our RingCentral desk phones?
Often, yes. If they are standard SIP phones and can be unlocked, we can usually set them up again for you. We check every model at the walk-through and tell you in writing which ones stay.
We are mid-term with RingCentral. What now?
Bring the agreement to the walk-through. We read the renewal date and the early-termination terms with you, then time the design, the build and the cutover around them.
What about AT&T Office@Hand?
RingCentral’s August 4, 2025 press release describes AT&T Office@Hand as “powered by the RingCentral RingEX platform,” so the same comparison applies. Bring your AT&T agreement to the walk-through.

Start with a walk-through

Put our design next to their quote.

We walk the office, map how your calls actually flow, and hand you a written design to set beside anything you have been offered.
